Facebook, a popular social media platform, informed 14 million users recently about an error that shared post publicly irrespective of users’ sharing settings. The software error caused all posts shared between May 18th and May 27th to be posted publicly. Facebook said although they were able to terminate the error, posts settings could not be changed until the fifth day.
Erin Egan, Facebook‘s Chief Privacy Officer, apologized and emphasized that the sharing settings had been fixed and users could post freely and review previous posts shared.
The announcement comes after a series of privacy breaches the Tech Giant had been accused of after its most recent Cambridge Analytica data-breach scandal.
