Google, an American Tech Giant, recently updated its Translate app to allow offline translations on its iPhone and Android devices. Julie Cattiau, Google’s product manager, made this new feature known in a blog post. The update was made possible through Artificial Intelligence and would be useful to travelers in poor network areas.
Google‘s Neutral Machine Translation App ( NMT) has additional features like the reduction of storage for each language, leaving a bigger storage capacity on the mobile device.
NMT was launched two years ago with its features being supported and available in online mode only. The app offered translations in just eight languages in the beginning. NMT has seen a tremendous improvement in global communication by an addition of 51 more languages.
