Google Invests $22 Million Into KaiOS

Google, the largest search engine company, is investing $22 million into KiaOS. KiaOS is a mobile phone operating system that combines the features of a smartphone with affordability. KiaOS, first released in 2017 as one of Firefox’s smartphone Operating System, is gradually making its way into the smartphone market.

The CEO of KiaOS, Sebastien Codeville, described the investment as strategic, as it would make Google products accessible to KiaOS users. The mobile phone operating system would allow developers use HTML5, Javascript, and CSS for building apps. KiaOS can be found on TCL, Micromax and Nokia phones.
