Google, an American Multinational Tech Company, is likely to be fined $5 billion by the European Union over its Android operating system. The fine is expected to be made public by the EU Competition Commissioner, Margrethe Vestager in Brussels. The Tech Giant was accused and found guilty of using its most influential Android to demean its competitors after a three year long investigation.
The impending EU’s decision, adds to a total fine of 6.7 billion, months after the tech company was slapped with a fine in 2017 for its shopping-search services.
The Chief Executive Officer of Google, Sundar Pichai, had an invitation for a discussion with the EU Competition Commissioner, Margrethe Vestager. The invitation is believed to be an alert of the impending fine. Both parties, have declined to comment on the fines.
