Facebook, an American social media messaging platform, recently announced its intention to update its mobile navigation bar to incorporate personalized icons of products most visited. The navigation bar, located on top of the screen for Android phones and bottom for Iphones, will soon have additional icons.
Currently, most users in US see five icons, which are News Feed, Watch, Marketplace, Notifications, and Menu. With the new update, icons such as News Feed, Notifications, and Menu, will remain accessible to users whiles the rest get replaced with any of the following; Profile, Friend requests, Marketplace, Groups, and Watch based on users’ most visited product. Users will be notified via an alert when an icon is added.
Although the update was tested in February, Facebook is set to update its app over the next few weeks for more than 2 billion users.
