In a recent survey by McAfee, a global cybersecurity company, parents have been found to disregard the risks associated with posting their children’s images online. Nearly 71 % of parents agreed it was dangerous to post photos of their children online. Despite the fears, about 58% believed it was their right to do so without the consent of the children.
Most parents attributed the concerns of posting children pictures to the risk of kidnapping, bullying, stalking and cyber bullying. Additionally, the results indicated that just about 30% of parents were concerned about the children’s emotions.
Gary Davis, the chief consumer security evangelist at McAfee gave a caution to parents to be more considerate about the safety of their children in posting pictures.
