The chief private officer of Facebook, Erin Egan, recently announced in a blog post that over 800,000 users were affected by a bug that unblocked one or more people from their block list. The social networking giant, further stated the bug was in operation from May 29th to 5th June.
Although the bug unblocked people, it did not establish friendships between the affected users and those on the block lists.
Egan informed users that the issue has been fixed. She encouraged users to check their inbox for Facebook notifications on block lists.
Initially, Facebook did not explain what caused the bug, but later on, in a Twitter reply to Journalist Josh Constine, further details was provided.
