The CEOs of the three Tech giants, Facebook, Twitter and Google have been summoned by the Senate Judiciary Committee to testify before the US Congress. The hearing, which is scheduled to take place on Monday, April 10, would be on the theme “future of data privacy in social media”. The hearing will focus on privacy standards associated with collection of data and its distribution to third parties.
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, will be expected to explain to the Senate Judiciary Committee, how data can be misused and the actions Facebook is taking to protect users privacy.
The hearing follows recent news of 50 million Facebook users’ data being used by Cambridge Analytica without their permission. Facebook‘s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, has since apologized and promised to handle data privacy more carefully.
