Facebook, a global social media platform, recently informed the public of undisclosed systems that are being used to take down nude photos of children. The system which was rolled out in 2017, has been able to remove about 8.7 million nude photos of children uploaded by users.
Another undisclosed system mentioned by the social media company identifies users who befriend minors for sexual engagements. Facebook’s global head of safety Antigone Davis, says that users can appeal should the system make a mistake on any post.
Facebook in recent times vowed to improve the speedy removal of inappropriate posts following pressure from regulators. Facebook intends to apply the child safety systems on its Instagram app.
