Facebook, a social media messaging app, recently removed its Onavo VPN app from IOS Play store following Apple’s privacy concerns. Facebook‘s Onavo VPN app, which was initially supposed to protect users from malware attacks online, collected data about the apps installed on users’ iPhone.
Following the app’s activities and the non-conformity to Apple‘s data collection and marketing policies, Facebook removed its app completely.
The two tech giants, Facebook and Apple, recently had a meeting where Apple requested Facebook to voluntarily remove the Onavo VPN app. Following the removal, Apple users will no more receive updates on the apps. Android phone users can still access their Onavo VPN app.
