Google Tracks Users with Location Settings Off

Google, a global search engine, is able to track users even with their location settings off. This is possible through the usage of other services like Google Maps, weather updates and browser searches. By turning off location settings, users only restrict Google from updating its timeline feature.

To completely make users’ location invisible, settings to web and app activity must be turned off. Users have the option to delete previously entered location data by visiting https://myactivity.google.com/. Google’s spokesperson in a statement informed users that the Location data is a Google product that users have the option to keep or delete.
