Honour of Kings Checks Ages with Facial Recognition

Following game addiction accusations by the local media against China’s Honour of Kings’ game producer, Tencent, the tech firm has updated its game features to include a trial of facial recognition technology in order to check the ages of users. The Facial recognition trial is expected to be used by thousands of users in Beijing and Shenzhen.

The facial recognition trial follows the real name registration system the Chinese tech firm placed on the app to curb the growing addiction among children.
