US News Websites Block European Users

The  General Data Protection Regulation, an EU data privacy law took effect on May 25, 2018. At the time of its commencement, a number of non-compliant US news websites, blocked its European users.

US News Websites such as Tronc and Lee Enterprises were among the many websites blocking European users. Tronc and Lee Enterprises would rather restrict European users than being found non-compliant to GDPR.

The GDPR enforces strict guidelines regarding Tech Companies collection, usage and handling of users data.
