Apple Promotes Health Record Service Use By Medical Researchers and App Developers

Apple, an American Tech giant, is currently promoting the use of its health record service by app developers and medical researchers.  App developers and medical researchers would require authorization from users to gain access into their medical data. The health record service app, Healthkit, allows patients to store  personal health details on their mobile devices.

Apple users get the option to make the encrypted information accessible to developers developing medical tracking tools, and researchers working on disease management, nutrition and other medical research.

Apple informed users health records are encrypted and password protected. Once information is shared, it remains between the third party and the Healthkit.
