Social Giants Delete Accounts Linked to Russia & Iran Elections

The two social media tech giants, Facebook and Twitter, have announced they deleted many fake accounts linked to Russia and Iran. Facebook discovered over 650 pages linked to campaigns in Russia and Iran. Twitter had suspended about 284 accounts linked to Iran.

In a statement by Facebook, the social media giant emphasized the need for users to trust new connections on the social platform.

The social media's actions follow notifications from a cybersecurity company, FireEye, that discovered a number of accounts that encouraged propaganda.
